Match Reports

After a highly successful tour of Sri Lanka (winning 3 out of 4 matches) and last weeks 1st Round cup match win over Roehampton, the League season kicked off in earnest last weekend.

There was a mixed start to the league campaigns with the 1s losing away to Addiscombe, while the 2s were frustrated in a bore draw against Cranleigh. Despite struggling with availabilities all week the 3s strolled to a 9 wicket win over Dorking. (Click here for full match reports).

Please let Sam Hyman know your availabilities for this week.

Charity Quiz Night - £900 Raised for Sri Lankan Charity

Ahead of the Tour to Sri Lanka, The Club held a charity quiz night and raised £900 for a local charity in Sri Lanka as the country continues its recovery from the 2004 tsunami. The charity is Senhasa which was part set-up by the parents of a curent Pauline.

Thanks to Mike Kiernan for all his efforts in making the night a success.

A message from the Trust............

Dear Mike,

Thank you very much for the donation of £900 that you gave to the Senahasa Trust on behalf of the Old Pauline's Cricket Club.

We were delighted to receive this generous amount and we are so pleased that you chose to support Senahasa at your pre-tour quiz night. We hope you had a successful tour and hope you all enjoyed the visit to Sri Lanka. How did you get on?

When we spoke before I suggested that any money you raised could be spent on sports equipment/ Following a Trustees meeting we had yesterday, I have a slightly different idea for you to think about.

One of the subjects we discussed was the the playing field at one of the the schools we support. The area has a large overgrown mound of rubble at on end which needs clearing, we would like to build a wall on one side to stop balls (and children) falling into the road which runs alongside, and the whole field needs drainage putting in, then re-turfing. We wondered if you would like your donation to go towards this project which would would be a long-lasting improvement, giving the children a much safer place to play sports

Let me know what you think.

Thank you again for your support.

With best wishes,

Yours,

Lucy Ratnatunga.
